Ahead of the launch of its highly anticipated Find X8 series, Oppo has unveiled ColorOS 15, its latest iteration of the Android-based operating system. Packed with new features and enhancements, ColorOS 15 promises a smoother, more intuitive, and intelligent user experience.
The update brings a refreshed visual design with redesigned icons, dynamic lighting effects, and natural light and shadow elements integrated throughout the user interface. Oppo has also introduced the Aurora and Tidal Engine, a system-level rendering technology that allows for parallel running of app animations. This results in smoother, lag-free transitions when switching between applications.
Performance improvements are another key highlight of ColorOS 15. System-level optimizations have led to an 18% increase in app responsiveness and a 26% faster app installation process. Oppo has also implemented dynamic cache allocation, which intelligently manages system resources in real time to ensure fluidity during operation.
AI Takes Center Stage
Artificial intelligence plays a significant role in ColorOS 15. Oppo’s XiaoBu Assistant is now summonable from any screen, allowing users to engage in natural conversations with continuous content-aware queries. A new “circle to search” option provides quick access to search functionality across all screens.
AI also powers several enhanced imaging features. One-touch person and reflection removal, blur removal for portraits, and a clever image upscaling feature are just some of the AI-driven tools available. Live Photos now support electronic image stabilization (EIS), further enhancing video quality.
Beyond photography, AI is integrated into various other applications. The notes app can automatically format and summarize notes, while a new document scan feature offers embedded summarization and translation capabilities between languages. The voice recorder can also transcribe and summarize recordings.
Availability
ColorOS 15 will come pre-installed on the upcoming Oppo Find X8 series and OnePlus 13 devices in China. Older models, including the Find X7 series, Find N3, Find N3 Flip, and OnePlus Ace 3 series, will receive the update starting in November.
