Kareena Kapoor Exits Yash’s ‘Toxic’: Scheduling Conflicts Force Actress to Step Down

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has stepped down from her role in the highly anticipated multilingual gangster saga, “Toxic,” starring Kannada superstar Yash. The decision comes due to scheduling conflicts, and both parties have mutually agreed to part ways, according to reports from Pinkvilla.

Initially, Kareena was slated to play a pivotal role as Yash’s sister in the film, generating significant buzz among fans. However, despite efforts to accommodate her busy schedule, she has ultimately had to withdraw from the project. Sources emphasize that her character was integral to the story’s structure, making her departure a considerable challenge for the filmmakers.

The production team is now actively searching for a suitable replacement with pan-India appeal to fill Kareena Kapoor’s shoes. Reports suggest actress Kiara Advani is in talks to take on the lead female role opposite Yash.

“Toxic,” directed by Geetu Mohandas, is set for release in April 2025 and will be available in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. This marks another high-profile project for Yash, who achieved phenomenal success with the “KGF” franchise (“KGF” and its sequel, “KGF: Chapter 2”). He also has Nitesh Tiwari’s epic adaptation of the Hindu epic “Ramayana” in his pipeline, where he will star alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
