WhatsApp Adds Low-Light Mode for Brighter Video Calls

WhatsApp

WhatsApp has rolled out a new update that significantly enhances video calling experiences, particularly in dimly lit environments. The update introduces a dedicated “Low-light mode” designed to improve video quality and clarity during calls when lighting conditions are poor.

This new feature utilizes advanced algorithms to brighten the overall video frame, ensuring faces remain well-lit and details are visible even in low-light situations. The result is a smoother, more natural-looking video feed that minimizes graininess and enhances visual clarity.

To activate Low-light mode during a WhatsApp video call, users simply need to expand their video feed to full screen and tap the new “Bulb” icon located at the top right corner. A toggle switch allows users to easily enable or disable the feature as needed.
