In a move to democratize access to 5G technology, Xiaomi has launched the Redmi A4 5G in India. Priced under INR 10,000, this device aims to be one of the most affordable 5G smartphones available in the country.
The announcement marks a significant milestone for Xiaomi as it celebrates its 10th anniversary in India. “Redmi A4 5G embodies our vision of ‘5G for Everyone’, bridging the digital divide,” stated Muralikrishnan B, President of Xiaomi India. “With this device, we aim to accelerate India’s shift to 5G, delivering an enhanced entry-level smartphone experience.”
While full specifications haven’t been officially revealed, rumors suggest the Redmi A4 5G will feature a 6.7-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and visuals. The device is also expected to boast a 50MP main camera on its rear, housed within a large circular camera island reminiscent of the Redmi 14R and Redmi 14C models.
Further fueling speculation are reports of an 8MP front-facing camera and a substantial 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
The Redmi A4 5G’s launch is poised to create significant buzz in the Indian smartphone market. By offering affordable 5G capabilities, Xiaomi aims to empower a wider range of consumers to experience the benefits of next-generation connectivity.
